Here's the chicken coop, with the addition of an automatic door opener. the chicken coop was purchased from pets station. there are some (expensive) automatic chicken doors that are available for purchase, but i decided to design and make my own. you are welcome to copy or adapt the design to suit your own requirements.. Arduino chicken coop door leds status: green: indicating the door is closed and chickens are safely inside. this is what i see when i look outside at the coop. red: indicating danger: the door is open and chickens are out. red: (flashing) indicating danger: the door is stuck and open. essentially, the code checks to see if both topswitch and. It's been 2 months now and the automatic chicken coop door has been working flawlessly. the longest stretch without sunlight has been 2 days so far and the battery is large enough to still continue to work. i will add that on cloudy days the solar panel is still maintaining the battery. if anyone else has tried this, please post your experience..
